E-commerce retailer ASOS Plc introduced a visual search feature in its mobile application that enables customers to upload a photograph of the item they want to buy for a potential match from the company's inventory, InternetRetailing reported Aug 10.
The feature, which scans the retailer's catalog of more than 85,000 items to find a match, is available on the iOS platform and will soon be offered on Android.
The U.K.-based retailer noted that 70% of its orders from the U.K. come from a mobile device and that customers spend 80 minutes on an average per month using its application, according to the publication.
