TwitterInc. is holding talks with the National Basketball Association,Major League Soccer and TimeWarner Inc.'s Turner to acquire streaming rights to live sports andevents, Re/code reported July 8, citing several sources with knowledge of thetalks.
A potential agreement could include pre- or post-gamecontent like live interviews and analysis, or actual game footage.
According to the report, a deal with Turner could helpTwitter secure access to Turner's own eSports league, called Eleague, andprofessional video game competitions, in addition to access to sport rights tothe NBA, MLB and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
In April, Twitter won exclusive streaming for the NFL's Thursday NightFootball during the 2016 NFL regular season.
