Tesla Inc. temporarily suspended the production of its Model 3 electric sedan from Feb. 20 to Feb. 24, Bloomberg reported March 11, citing an email from a company spokesman.
The U.S. automaker reportedly said the suspension is part of the car's planned downtime periods, which are aimed at improving automation and addressing bottlenecks to increase production rates. The Tesla Model 3 is manufactured at the company's assembly plant in Fremont, Calif.
Tesla is looking to produce 2,500 Model 3 units by the end of March and 5,000 by the end of June, according to the report.
