Nordea CFO to step down in 2020

Christopher Rees will step down as group CFO and head of group finance and treasury of Nordea Bank Abp in 2020.

The Finland-based banking group said Rees has decided to move to the U.K. with his family to pursue other opportunities. He took on the role in March 2018, having previously served as deputy head of wholesale banking and head of Nordea Markets.

Rees will continue in the role and as an executive management board member until a successor is appointed. Nordea added that it has begun searching for Rees' successor.

The announcement of Rees' departure comes just days after the group appointed Frank Vang-Jensen to succeed Casper von Koskull as president and group CEO. Torsten Hagen Jørgensen also recently resigned as deputy CEO and group COO amid a governance team reshuffle.
