Ex-Barclays exec seen as front-runner for ICAP's EBS BrokerTec CEO

Tim Cartledge is said to be the leading contender to replaceEBS BrokerTec CEO Gil Mandelzis, who resignedrecently, Reuters reported July 21, citing "sources close to EBS."

Cartledge was previously global head of electronic tradingat Barclays Plc andhas been chief strategy officer at EBS BrokerTec November 2015.

ICAP Plc'sNew York-based electronic-trading technology and solutions provider is said tohave singled out several senior candidates from banks. However, the process ofhiring Mandelzis' replacement is still at an early stage, "sources withclose ties to EBS" told the newswire.

ICAP CEO Michael Spencer said the company will consider bothinternal and external candidates for the CEO role. An EBS spokeswoman declinedto comment on who the CEO front-runner might be, according to the report.
