BDO raises US$150M via 1st green bond issuance

BDO Unibank Inc. raised US$150 million through the issuance of its first green bond.

The funds raised from the issuance will be used exclusively to finance climate-smart projects, including renewable energy, green buildings and energy-efficient equipment.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the sole investor in the bonds.

The issuance of green bonds will provide an alternative source of long-term green finance in the Philippines, BDO Unibank said.
