Tanaka Seimitsu Kogyo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥6.44 per share, a decrease of 58.0% from ¥15.34 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥62.9 million, a decline of 58.0% from ¥149.8 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 0.5% from 1.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 5.4% year over year to ¥12.76 billion from ¥13.48 billion, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥12.27 billion from ¥12.85 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥231.0 million, or a loss of ¥23.67 per share, compared to income of ¥20.0 million, or ¥2.05 per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.90.
