Wind Tre SpA is considering a reorganization that would include forming a new entity for its towers business, Telecompaper reported March 15, citing Radiocor.
The Italian operator plans to reassign the ownership of its about 7,000 towers to the new business unit, planned to be named Pisa. The company is also looking to sell about 49% of the new entity's stake, while still retaining control of it.
In addition, Wind Tre is also planning to sell its data centers and to reassign its staff to Milan.
Wind Tre began operations in January 2017 as a joint venture between CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd. unit 3 Italia and Wind Telecomunicazioni SpA, owned by VEON, formerly known as Vimpelcom. CK Hutchison in mid-2018 acquired Wind's stake in Wind Tre.
