StarHub brings Smithsonian Channel to Singapore

Smithsonian Channel, a joint venture between 's and theSmithsonianInstitution, is set to debut in Asia on 's pay TV service inSingapore.

The network, featuring original programming focused on historical,scientific and cultural topics, will be offered in StarHub's Education Basic HDUpsize package at no additional cost, the telco said Sept. 23.

From its Sept. 27 launch until Oct. 10, Smithsonian Channelwill be available as a free preview to StarHub TV users with HD set-top boxes.Other StarHub customers can access the channel on their mobiledevices through Go Select on StarHub Go for a monthly fee.

Titles on the channel include "Islands ofCreation," "Asian Tsunami: The Deadliest Wave," "UncommonCourage: Breakout at Chosin," "Unbelievable FlyingObjects," "AerialAmerica" and "Million-Dollar American Princesses."
