Redbox, Lions Gate extend content agreement

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. extended its agreement with Redbox Automated Retail LLC to offer its content at kiosks the same day as retail sell-through dates.

By the end of 2017, Redbox will have more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide with 1,500 net new kiosks to be added this year and more planned in 2018, the company said Aug. 14.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Redbox in 2014 inked a multiyear agreement to bring Blu-ray Disc and DVD titles from Lions Gate to its kiosks the day of their retail home entertainment release.
