Main Street Capital to offer common shares

Main Street Capital Corp. has signed separate equity distribution agreements with certain sales agents to sell up to 4.5 million common shares from time to time.

The company intends to initially use the net proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding debt borrowed under its credit facility. However, through reborrowing of the initial repayments under its credit facility, the company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to make investments in marketable securities and idle funds investments, which may include investments in secured intermediate term bank debt, rated debt securities and other income-producing investments, to pay its operating expenses and other cash obligations, and for general corporate purposes.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, Raymond James & Associates Inc., RBC Capital Markets LLC and BB&T Capital Markets are the sales agents for the offering.
