Euronext's May average daily transaction value down 14.0% YOY

The average daily transaction value on the cash order book of Euronext NV amounted to around €7.34 billion in May, down 14.0% from a year earlier and down 1.0% from April.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €254 million in May, down 13.9% from a year ago and up 27.2% from the previous month. The pan-European exchange recorded 1,196 ETF listings as of the end of May, compared to 1,150 at the 2018-end.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives stood at 251,614 contracts, up 13.3% from May 2018. The ADV on individual equity derivatives reached 263,643 contracts, down 26.6% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodity derivatives fell 8.6% year over year to 58,027 contracts.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 573,284 contracts at May-end, down 11.1% from a year ago. The ADV on-the-spot foreign exchange market Euronext FX, previously known as FastMatch, stood at $17.26 billion in May, down 23.5% from a year ago and up 7.8% from April.
