Eastern Bank unit Eastern Insurance Group LLC has acquired the assets of Chase and Lunt Insurance Agency LLC, a Newburyport, Mass.-based insurance agency, the (Newburyport) Daily News reported, citing a news release.

Chase and Lunt's 28 employees, including President James Howlett III, joined Eastern Insurance on Feb. 1.

Eastern will rebrand Chase and Lunt's Newburyport office over the next six to 12 months and also plans to expand on the North Shore and New Hampshire.
