Filo Mining posts 14% increase in indicated resources at Filo del Sol

An updated resource estimate for Filo Mining Corp.'s polymetallic Filo del Sol project in Argentina increased indicated tonnage by 14%.

The company said Aug. 8 that the updated analysis will form the basis of a pre-feasibility study expected to be released in the first quarter of 2019.

It noted that the study will be in line with the late 2017 preliminary economic assessment looking at a leach-only operation to exclude sulfide mineralization.

Filo del Sol hosts indicated resources of 425.1 million tonnes grading 0.33% copper, 0.32 g/t of gold and 10.7 g/t of silver, with inferred resources of 175.1 million tonnes grading 0.27% copper, 0.33 g/t of gold and 6.2 g/t of silver.

Contained metal comprises 3.11 billion pounds of copper, 4.4 million ounces of gold and 146.9 million ounces of silver in the indicated category, and 1.06 billion pounds of copper, 1.8 million ounces of gold and 34.8 million ounces of silver in the inferred category.

The analysis used cutoffs of 0.20 g/t of gold for gold oxides, 0.15% copper equivalent for copper-gold oxides, 20 g/t of silver for silver zones and 0.30% copper equivalent for copper-gold sulfides underlying the other three mineralization types.
