Indiana American Water acquires water, wastewater systems for $10.8M

Indiana American Water Co. completed its acquisition of water and wastewater systems from Sheridan, Ind., for approximately $10.8 million.

The acquisition brings more than 2,500 customers to the American Water Works Co. Inc. subsidiary's customer base, according to a Dec. 21 news release. The company will incorporate the Sheridan systems into its Kokomo district, which serves approximately 60,000 residents.

The American Water Works Co. Inc.Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission signed off on the transaction in September, and Indiana American Water closed the deal Dec. 17.
