Citrix Systems profit misses consensus by 44.8% in Q3

Citrix Systems Inc. said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 58 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.04 per share.

EPS climbed 7.5% year over year from 54 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $89.1 million, a gain of 5.5% from $84.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 12.9% from 12.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to $690.9 million from $668.7 million, and total operating expenses increased year over year to $545.7 million from $527.0 million.

Reported net income increased 13.4% from the prior-year period to $126.8 million, or 82 cents per share, from $111.8 million, or 71 cents per share.
