Lumina Gold Corp. secured a mining title for the Cangrejos 20 concession, which is surrounded by the company's early-stage Cangrejos gold project in Ecuador.
Additionally, the company was awarded three highly prospective concessions, Tres Pichachos, La Canela and Las Orquideas, through an auction process conducted by the Ecuadorian government.
Previous work on the 4,828-hectare Tres Pichachos and 3,187-hectare La Canela concessions indicates large, high amplitude gold geochemical signatures.
At the 4,743-hectare Las Orquideas concession, a 3-kilometer-long, highly anomalous rock and soil copper-molybdenum anomaly that covers a ridge feature.
Lumina noted in its Dec. 22 release that the granting of the Cangrejos 20 title is key to the consolidation and development of its mineral holdings in the Cangrejos gold-copper district.
The company anticipates the granting of the mining titles for the additional concessions in January 2017.
