Chobe Holdings Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended Feb. 28 amounted to 15 thebe per share, an increase from 5 thebe per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 13.1 million pula, an increase from 4.4 million pula in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 18.3% year over year to 88.0 million pula from 74.4 million pula, and total operating expenses totaled 67.8 million pula, compared with 67.2 million pula in the prior-year period.
Reported net income rose year over year to 16.4 million pula, or 18 thebe per share, from 4.0 million pula, or 4 thebe per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 48 thebe per share, an increase of 49.7% from 32 thebe per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was 42.7 million pula, a rise of 49.7% from 28.5 million pula in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 21.8% year over year to 209.5 million pula from 172.0 million pula, and total operating expenses rose 11.8% year over year to 141.9 million pula from 126.9 million pula.
The company said reported net income increased 52.3% year over year to 51.4 million pula, or 57 thebe per share, in the full year, from 33.7 million pula, or 38 thebe per share.
As of April 29, US$1 was equivalent to 9.79 pula.
