Dominion Generation to acquire 74-MW solar project in North Carolina

A subsidiary of Dominion Generation Inc. is seeking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval to acquire the 74-MW Wilkinson Solar Project from a subsidiary of Invenergy LLC.

The under-construction project, located in Beaufort County, N.C., is expected to begin generating test power in the third or fourth quarter of 2019. According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, Wilkinson holds a 15-year power purchase agreement with Microsoft Corp.

The project will be interconnected to a transmission system owned by Dominion Energy Inc. subsidiary Virginia Electric and Power Co. doing business as Dominion Energy Virginia.

FERC is requested to approve the proposed acquisition by Sept. 30. Dominion Generation is owned by Dominion Energy. (FERC docket EC19-134)
