Everest Re Group Ltd.'s Everest Insurance hired Paul Sanders as head of European credit and political risk insurance business. Sanders most recently was the head of credit and political risk business at Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. unit Aspen Insurance.
American International Group Inc. hired Caroline Krass as senior vice president and general counsel of general insurance and deputy general counsel of the company, effective in March.

Symetra Financial Corp. announced Mehb Khoja's appointment as president of its wholly owned subsidiary, Medical Risk Managers Inc.
Safety National Casualty Corp. announced a number of organizational changes to executive and upper management roles, effective April 1. Among others, Gus Aivaliotis, senior vice president of large casualty, will join the executive management team and replace Gene Maier as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer. Maier will retire from the company.
Amalgamated Life Insurance Co. named Paul Mallen president and CEO. Mallen, who previously held the title of executive vice president and CFO, will succeed David Walsh, who retired.
Chubb Ltd. appointed Michael Smith chief claims officer. Most recently, Smith was chief transformation officer at AIG.
Nik Lucking will serve as head of direct and facultative for the newly established Bermudian underwriting unit of U.K-based Barbican Insurance. Lucking most recently was unit head of U.S. direct and facultative property at AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd./Novae Group Ltd.
LIBERTY Dental Plan appointed Rohan Reid as COO as of Jan. 8.

Trident Insurance Group Inc. named William Sohn to lead its surety underwriting efforts.
Vincent Flood, an executive vice president at Alliant Insurance Services Inc., is expected to rejoin Aon Plc in mid-February after being persuaded by senior members of Aon's management, The Insurance Insider reported. Flood was among the executives who resigned from Aon to join Alliant, leading Aon to sue.
AMERIGROUP Tennessee Inc. appointed Edna Willingham president. Willingham previously was COO at the company, and succeeds Al King, who recently assumed another leadership role in the organization.
Heritage Insurance Holdings Inc. named Kirk Lusk CFO. Lusk will serve as co-CFO with current CFO Steven Martindale until April 28, when Martindale's contract expires.
CNA Financial Corp. expanded the role of Joyce Trimuel as COO in addition to her current role as chief diversity officer, and hired Bahr Omidfar as senior vice president and chief technology officer.

Zurich North America appointed Lillian Labbat as head of trade credit and political risk, the Insurance Journal reported.
