Avista files annual rate adjustment with Idaho PUC

Avista Corp. filed its annual rate adjustment case with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission for an overall increase of $2.8 million, or 1.1%, effective Oct. 1.

The adjustments include a power cost adjustment rebate of $7.3 million, a residential exchange program return related to hydropower received through the Bonneville Power Administration that would result in a revenue decrease of approximately $200,000, and an adjustment related to energy efficiency programs that would increase revenue by approximately $3.9 million. Avista also seeks a rate adjustment related to electric fixed costs that would increase revenue by approximately $5.9 million.

The average residential Idaho customer, after using 910 kWh per month, would see their bill increase by $1.73 per month, or approximately 2%, according to an Aug. 1 news release.
