Combinedcoal exports from the Hay Point, Dalrymple Bay and Abbot Point terminals inQueensland posted a 9% rise month on month in September, to a 15-month high of12.99 million tonnes, S&P Global Platts reported Oct. 5, citing data from theNorth Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation.
Theboost is largely attributable to increased exports from the 'sfacility, after it shipped 6.67 million tonnes of coal in September, climbing19% from the prior month. Coal exports from the Adani Group- Abbot Point Coal Terminal alsocontributed to the rise, with exports surging 28% month on month to 2.31million tonnes, said the report.
Meanwhile,BHP Billiton MitsubishiAlliance's Hay Point terminal saw its exports in September fall 12%month on month to 4.01 million tonnes.
September'saggregate throughput from the three terminals outstripped the year-to-datemonthly average of 12.02 million. Year-to-date, exports clocked in at 108.21million tonnes compared to 105.98 million tonnes of the same period last year,wrote Platts.
