New Gold Inc. said Oct. 6 that it completed the initial gold pour at the Rainy River mine in Ontario, yielding about 500 ounces of gold and 600 ounces of silver.
Rainy River has processed 290,000 tonnes of ore since processing started in mid-September, representing an average processing rate of nearly 14,000 tonnes per day, or 67% of the nameplate capacity of 21,000 t/d.
Commissioning plans for the mine remain on schedule.
