Senvion wins 250-MW turbine order for Indian wind project

Senvion SA on Aug. 13 said it received a conditional order from Continuum Wind Energy Pvt Ltd. to supply 250 MW of turbines for a wind project in India.

Under the agreement, the German turbine manufacturer will install and commission 108 of 2.3M130 turbines at the Bhuj wind farm, located in the South Asian country's Gujarat state. The installation is expected to be completed by early 2020.

Senvion also will provide operations and maintenance services under a 20-year contract.

Continuum Wind Energy won a power contract for the project in the round 4 bidding from state-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. India is targeting to have an installed renewable energy capacity of 175 GW till 2022.

Mumbai, India-based Continuum Wind Energy is an independent wind power producer with a portfolio of 524 MW of operating capacity, 30-MW under construction, 1,000-MW ready to construct and approximately 900-MW under development.
