Jamna Auto Industries fiscal Q1 profit climbs 6.0% YOY

Jamna Auto Industries Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 12 Indian paise per share, a gain of 5.5% from 11 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 47.1 million rupees, a gain of 6.0% from 44.4 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 2.1% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled 2.30 billion rupees, compared with 2.31 billion rupees in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses totaled 2.18 billion rupees, compared with 2.19 billion rupees in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income decreased 71.2% from the prior-year period to 54.6 million rupees, or 14 paise per share, from 189.7 million rupees, or 48 paise per share.

As of Aug. 12, US$1 was equivalent to 61.08 Indian rupees.
