Vestas board member resigns to become group president, CEO

Henrik Andersen has resigned from the board of Vestas Wind Systems A/S as he assumes the roles of group president and CEO of the company.

The move — first announced in May — will see him replace Anders Runevad, who will remain as chairman of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind A/S until mid-2020. Runevad will also continue to advise Vestas Chairman Bert Nordberg and the new CEO Andersen.

Andersen's appointment is effective immediately, according to an Aug. 1 release.
