Japanese tire and rubber manufacturer Bridgestone Corp. said Sept. 10 that it acquired U.K. automotive service provider ETB Group from founder Charles Ivill and his family.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Bridgestone said the deal will benefit the company's product range and strengthen its retail and sales footprint in the U.K.
ETB, which does business as Exhaust Tyres Batteries and Britannia Tyres, is headquartered in Worcester, England, and has 32 locations with 265 employees.
Upon completion of the deal, ETB and Britannia Tyres will continue operating under their current names and with their current staff, with Ivill continuing to direct operations.
The ETB deal follows the company's acquisitions and joint ventures in France, Germany, Spain and Slovakia in the last four years, including with Speedy, First Stop and Côté Route.
