Northland Power reaches settlement with Ontario solar project contractor

NorthlandPower Inc. reached settlements with contractor H.B White CanadaCorp. and its affiliates over disputes and claims over five ground-mountedsolar projects in Cochrane and Burks Falls West in Ontario.

The settlement agreements between the companies areconditioned on court approval of H.B. White Canada's proposed plan ofcompromise or arrangement in its Companies' Creditors Arrangement Actproceeding. The proposed plan provides for the payment of C$6 million and otherrelief to Northland Power.

Northland Power said it also filed a court application forcredit protection under the CCAA. Pending the outcome of the CCAA proceeding,all ongoing arbitration between Northland Power and H.B. White Canada have beensuspended.
