Ferrexpo Q3'17 pellet production down 1.7% QOQ due to ongoing maintenance

Ferrexpo Plc's total pellet production fell 1.7% to 2.5 million tonnes in the third quarter compared with the second due to the company's ongoing pellet line maintenance program.

All the pellets were produced from own ore in the quarter, compared to about 9,960 tonnes produced from third party materials in the second quarter, the company said Oct. 5.

Production of 62% iron basic pellets jumped 47.3% to 156,600 tonnes, while output of 65% iron premium pellets declined 3.9% to 2.3 million tonnes on a quarterly basis.

In the first nine months of the year, Ferrexpo's total pellet production dropped 8.1% year over year to 8.3 million tonnes.
