Euronext's April average daily transaction value down 5.9% YOY

The average daily transaction value on the cash-order book of Euronext NV amounted to about €7.41 billion in April, down 5.9% from a year earlier and down 4.0% from March.

Activity on exchange-traded funds reached an average daily transaction value of €200 million in April, down 17.8% from a year ago and down 7.1% from the previous month. The pan-European exchange recorded 1,178 ETF listings as of the end of April, compared to 1,150 at the 2018-end.

The average daily volume on equity index derivatives stood at 217,075 contracts, up 3.5% from April 2018. The ADV on individual equity derivatives reached 318,782 contracts, up 4.6% on a yearly basis, while the ADV on commodity derivatives fell 16.8% year over year to 49,529 contracts.

The overall ADV on derivatives reached 585,386 contracts at April-end, up 2.0% from a year ago. The ADV on the spot foreign exchange market Euronext FX, previously known as FastMatch, stood at $16.02 billion in April, down 17.3% from a year ago and down 23.9% from March.
