The U.S. trade deficit narrowed in June as exports rose, the U.S. Census Bureau reported Aug. 4.
June's trade gap in goods and services fell to $43.6 billion, down $2.7 billion from the revised $46.4 billion shortfall in May. Exports rose $2.4 billion to $194.4 billion while imports declined $400 million to $238.0 billion.
In the 12 months ending in June, the trade deficit increased $26.7 billion, or 10.7%, from the same period in 2016.
