Lux Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 3.20 Indian rupees per share, a gain of 41.9% from 2.25 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 80.8 million rupees, an increase of 41.8% from 56.9 million rupees in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 4.9% from 3.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 9.0% year over year to 1.66 billion rupees from 1.53 billion rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 8.1% from the prior-year period to 1.51 billion rupees from 1.40 billion rupees.
Reported net income rose 40.5% on an annual basis to 86.2 million rupees, or 3.41 rupees per share, from 61.3 million rupees, or 2.43 rupees per share.
As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 65.08 Indian rupees.
