Aviat Networks Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Jan. 1 amounted to a loss of 64 cents per share, compared with a loss of 46 cents per share in the second quarter ended Dec. 26, 2014.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of $3.3 million, compared with a loss of $2.4 million in the second quarter ended Dec. 26, 2014.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 4.6% from negative 2.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 22.6% year over year to $70.4 million from $90.9 million, and total operating expenses decreased 20.3% on an annual basis to $75.4 million from $94.6 million.
Reported net income came to a loss of $5.7 million, or a loss of $1.09 per share, compared to a loss of $4.4 million, or a loss of 85 cents per share, in the second quarter ended Dec. 26, 2014.
