Garanti Bankasi pays fine for consumer protection law breach

saidMarch 29 that it paid a fine imposed by Turkey's Ministry of Customs and Tradefor breaching the country's consumer protection law.

Garantiand Türkiye Is BankasiAS were each fined 110.1 million Turkish lira in August 2015, whileNational Bank of GreeceSA unit Finansbank ASwas fined 43.6 million lira.

Garantisaid it filed a lawsuit for cancellation of the administrative fine.The lawsuit isstill ongoing.

As of March 29, US$1 wasequivalent to 2.86 Turkish lira.
