UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s UnitedHealthcare and Blue Shield of California terminated agreements with Northern California-based Nivano Physicians Medical Group.
The physicians group is currently on a corrective action plan with the Golden State's Department of Managed Health Care for failure to meet financial solvency criteria, according to the California Medical Association.
Blue Shield filed a block transfer request with the department on July 5 initiating the transfer of its more than 2,700 members from Nivano to other care delivery organizations. The transfer is effective Aug. 10.
UnitedHealthCare reassigned most of its 1,750 covered members effective Aug. 1.
