Paine Schwartz invests in Warburton Technology

Food and agribusiness-focused private equity firm Paine Schwartz Partners LLC created its animal health and nutrition investment platform following a strategic investment through its Paine Schwartz Food Chain Fund IV in Irish animal pharmaceuticals company Warburton Technology.

The platform will also include U.S.-based MS Biotech Holdings Inc., in which Paine Schwartz initially invested in October 2018.

Financial terms of the Warburton investment were undisclosed.

William Weldon was named CEO of the new platform. Weldon is an animal health industry veteran who served for more than 20 years at Elanco Animal Health.

Eithna O'Leary will remain as managing director of Warburton, while Leander van der Walt will remain CEO of MS Biotec, a provider of proprietary products for the beef feedlot and dairy markets.
