Reports: Germany will stress-test smaller lenders in 2017

The German central bank and regulator Bafin willlaunch a stress test for about 1,500 German savings banks and other small lenders,Reuters reported July 25.

The test will be based on the banks' 2016 results andwill be published in the second half of 2017.

The stress test will focus on the effect of the record-lowinterest rate environment on small German lenders, Handelsblatt reported the same day.
