MeetMe's short interest surged in the second half ofJune, propelling the company to the top of the list of new media short interestgainers.
According to SNL Kagan data, the New Hope, Pa.-basedfirm's short interest shot up 400 basis points between June 15 and June 30 to6.27% of outstanding shares. MeetMe said June 27 that it to buy Skout, a global mobilelocation-based network for meeting people, for $28.5 million in cash androughly 5.37 million MeetMe shares.
Meanwhile, Sizmek Inc. reached the top of the list of shortinterest decliners with a drop of 240 basis points to 0.64% of outstandingshares.
WayfairInc. was again the most heavily shorted new media stock, endingthe two-week survey period with short interest on 30.58% of outstanding shares.
