Merck & Co. appoints Nike exec as chief information, digital officer

Jim Scholefield is going to join Merck & Co. Inc. as chief information and digital officer, effective Oct. 29.

Scholefield will lead Merck's information technology and digital strategy.

"His extensive experience leading large global IT organizations for multinational companies, including developing innovative digital capabilities, makes him an exceptional addition to our team," Merck CFO Robert Davis said of the appointee.

Scholefield is NIKE Inc.'s chief information officer and led the upgrade of the company's cybersecurity and other critical infrastructure.
