Moody'sCorp. reported second-quarter net income attributable to thecompany of $255.5 million, or $1.30 per share, compared with $261.7 million, or$1.28 per share, in the year-ago quarter.
The S&P Capital IQ consensus GAAP EPS estimate for thequarter was $1.23.
Revenue climbed to $928.9 million in the second quarter from$918.1 million in the prior-year period.
"Moody's achieved year-on-year revenue growth in thesecond quarter due to the strong performance of Moody's Analytics and therecovery in bond issuance from the weak start to the year," President andCEO Raymond McDaniel said.
Total Moody's Analytics revenue in the second quarter was$303.3 million, an increase from $278.9 million in the prior-year quarter.Total Moody's Investors Service revenue dropped to $625.6 million from $639.2 million.
During the second quarter, the company repurchased 2.3million shares at a total cost of $223.8 million, or an average cost of $96.60per share.
For 2016, the company reaffirmed its EPS guidance of $4.55 to $4.65 andexpects to be toward the lower end of the range.
The S&P Capital IQ consensus GAAP EPS estimate for 2016is $4.56.
