PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk's shareholders appointed Sunarso as new president director of the state-owned lender, replacing Suprajarto who recently resigned from the role, The Jakarta Post reported Sept. 3.
Sunarso was previously the bank's vice president director. Catur Budi Harto, former director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, will replace Sunarso as vice president director.
Sunarso's appointment came after Suprajarto rejected a directive from the country's State-Owned Enterprises Ministry to head another state-owned lender, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. Suprajarto said he was consulted about the move.
