Bridgestone rolls out subscription service for premium tires, vehicle services

Japanese tire maker Bridgestone Corp. said Oct. 2 that it rolled out a monthly subscription service called MOBOX that offers new tires, warranties and other vehicle-related services.

For a flat fee starting from €7 per month, MOBOX subscribers can receive new premium tires, fittings and a full warranty on tire damages and use services such as tire checks, rotation and wheel alignment. Users also get access to MOBOX's web platform to manage their subscriptions online.

The subscription service is being offered across France and Spain, with plans to introduce it in other European countries from 2019. MOBOX was previously piloted at 25 First Stop stores starting in October 2017 and has been expanded to select stores under the Speedy retail banner in France and First Stop in Spain since June.

In a separate same-day announcement, Bridgestone said it also launched a predictive tire and vehicle maintenance service called My Speedy for use in connected cars. The company aims to make the new service available across Europe through Speedy stores.
