Bankers Commercial Corp. is seeking approval to acquire the nonmanaging, passive class A membership stake in the planned 100-MW Apple Blossom wind project in Huron County, Mich.
Following the tax equity investment, Sempra Energy subsidiary Sempra ABW Holdings LLC will retain ownership of the class B membership interests in the facility, according to an Aug. 4 application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The output of the facility will be sold to CMS Energy Corp. subsidiary Consumers Energy Co. under a 15-year power contract, which is expected to start in the last quarter of 2017.
The applicants asked FERC to approve the transaction by Oct. 1. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. is the ultimate corporate parent of Bankers Commercial Corp.
