Games Workshop Group fiscal H2 profit climbs 14.6% YOY

Games Workshop Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal second half ended May 31 amounted to 20 Great British pence per share, a gain of 14.6% from 17 pence per share in the second half ended June 1, 2014.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £6.4 million, a gain of 14.6% from £5.6 million in the second half ended June 1, 2014.

Total revenue totaled £62.6 million, compared with £63.0 million in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses declined year over year to £52.4 million from £54.1 million.

Reported net income grew on an annual basis to £7.6 million, or 24 pence per share, from £2.4 million, or 8 pence per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 32 pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 38 pence.

EPS declined from 33 pence in the prior year.

Normalized net income was £10.3 million, compared with £10.4 million in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased from the prior-year period to £119.1 million from £123.5 million, and total operating expenses declined on an annual basis to £102.7 million from £106.9 million.

The company said reported net income increased 53.0% on an annual basis to £12.3 million, or 38 pence per share, in the full year, from £8.0 million, or 25 pence per share.
