Subsea 7 inks sizable service contract for Jubilee field offshore Ghana

Subsea 7 SA said Oct. 10 that Tullow Ghana Ltd. awarded an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract to a consortium comprised of Subsea 7 Volta Contractors and NOV Oil & Gas Services Ghana Ltd. for the Jubilee field offshore Ghana.

In particular, Subsea 7 will work on the installation of the Buoy Turret Loading, or BTL, system from APL, a group within NOV Completion & Production Solutions, along with associated suction piles. In addition, the company will undertake engineering, procurement, construction and installation activities, which include two offloading lanes for the BTL and the additional hang-off platform and skid for the floating production storage and offloading unit.

Offshore installation is slated to take place in 2020 with a good portion of the fabrication being done in Ghana.

The exact contract value was not disclosed but Subsea 7 considers sizable contract to range from $50 million to $150 million.
