Nielsen unveils performance testing service for mobile video

Nielsen Holdings plc unveiled a new performance testing service for mobile video.

Called Nielsen Mobile Video Performance, the new service will evaluate streaming video quality on mobile and Wi-Fi networks, benchmark data across the industry and rate individual players on the factors which contribute most to positive customer experiences, the company said Dec. 7.

The four factors that the service focuses on are video resolution, startup time, rebuffering and video success rate.
