EQT continues steep rise in short interest

EQT Corp. saw the greatest jump in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered midstream and related companies between July 14 and July 31. This is the third consecutive time the company has topped the list of risers as well as the list of most-shorted stocks in the group.

The percentage of the company's shares held short rose 269 basis points to 17.85% as of July 31. The company also once again topped the list of most shorted midstream and related companies for the period.

Southwestern Energy Co. posted the steepest decrease in short interest relative to shares outstanding among SNL-covered midstream and related companies between July 14 and July 31. The company saw short interest fall 144 basis points to 8.34% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.
