Report: Carlyle Group in talks to acquire Verisk Analytics' health care information technology division

Carlyle Group LPis in advanced negotiations to acquire Verisk Health, Verisk Analytics Inc.'s health care information technologydivision, Reuters reported April 7, citing "people familiar with the matter."

Though Carlyle Group's bid was not determined, its offer wasconsiderably less than Verisk's expectation, which was for the division to be valuedat $1 billion, the news outlet said, citing sources.

Veritas CapitalFund Management LLC was among other companies interested in the buyoutof Verisk Health, according to the report.

Carlyle Group declined to comment, Reuters said. Verisk Analyticsand Veritas Capital also did not respond to requests for comment.

Verisk Analytics announcedin October 2015 that it was exploring strategic alternatives for Verisk Health.
