Unilever names COO

The Unilever Group, which consists of Unilever PLC and Unilever NV, said March 14 that it has named Nitin Paranjpe as COO.

Paranjpe, who is president of the company's foods and refreshment division, will be succeeded in that position by Hanneke Faber, the current president of Unilever's European arm.

Peter ter Kulve, chief digital officer and executive vice president of the consumer giant's Southeast Asia and Australasia arm, was appointed president of the home care division. Ter Kulve succeeds Kees Kruythoff, who has decided to exit the company after 27 years.

Unilever added that Sanjiv Mehta, executive vice president for South Asia, has been promoted to president of the region's operations.

The consumer goods company said the leadership changes, all effective May 1, are in line with how it restructured its business in 2018 to have three main divisions — beauty and personal care, foods and refreshment, and home care.
