Report: Certain Chinese bank units may face greater regulatory scrutiny in UK

The U.K. Financial Conduct Authority is considering whetherto increase its anti-money laundering and anti-corruption inspections of theLondon branches of Industrial& Commercial Bank of China Ltd. and , Reutersreported March 29, citing Chinese magazine Caixin,which referred to "unidentified sources."

Various European officials over the past year have beenintensifying their scrutiny of Chinese banks amid concerns over lax compliancepractices, according to the report.
